Responsibility of Shows holding Qualifying Rounds

1. Selected Shows should hold a separate class for each qualifier from which the highest placed animals will qualify.
2. Shows must ensure that the qualifiers are held strictly in accordance with the relevant rules.
3. No other sponsor may be involved in qualifying classes.
4. Shows may charge a set entry fee for each qualifying class. The I.S.A. will award a rosette to the successful exhibit(s) on appearance at the final.
5. No show hosting a Championship Final may hold a qualifying class for that championship on the day of the final other than by agreement with the Irish Shows Association.
6. Shows who hold qualifiers for Horses, Ponies, Cattle, Sheep & Goats may ask exhibitors to enter the exhibit in at least one other class at their show on the day. Shows should not undertake to host a qualifier unless they have an equivalent class.
7. Where shows debar class winners from further competitions, this rule must not be applied to qualifiers.
8. Animals qualified for finals are not eligible to enter in any other show class at the show where the final is held, other than a qualifying class for another championship.
9. Shows should appoint competent, well-briefed people to act as stewards, who must ensure that only animals (or other exhibits) which are eligible to compete and whose documentation is in order, are allowed to proceed to the judging ring.
10. On completion of judging, Stewards must inform the successful competitors to visit the Secretary's Office at the show within one hour and complete the necessary paperwork and pay for entry to the final.
11. The show must appoint a well-briefed officer who will be available at the Secretary's Office to assist exhibitors to complete the entry cards for participation in the final and collect the entry fee.
12. Qualifying cards must be fully completed and the qualifying fee paid on the day of the show. Once both conditions are met, then qualifying cards may be signed by board members.

The Connemara Three Year Old Filly All Ireland Championship

1. This championship is confined to Registered Connemara Three year Old Fillies. The progeny of Registered Connemara Sire & Registered Connemara Dam.
2. Exhibitors In both the Qualifier and the Final must have the CPBS Passport ready for inspection prior to entry to the judgingring.                                                                                   
   Failure to comply with this rule will lead to immediate disqualification
3. A Maximum of Two exhibits may qualify, provided the judges feel the standard is high enough for an ISA Championship.
4. One of the Judges at the final must be from CPBS judges list.
5. The Qualifying Exhibitor must fill out their own Qualifying Card at each Qualifying Show. Completed card and entry fee must be handed into the secretary’s office on show day.

1. This competition is open to animals with the breed code ID, registered in The Irish Draught Horse Studbook (or a harmonised Irish DraughtStudbook) with recorded breeding.
2. Exhibitors to both the qualifier & Final must have their animals passport available for inspection prior to entry to Judging Ring.Failure to comply with this rule will lead to immediate disqualification.
3. Passports & Microchips should be read by a Vet at the Final
4. A Maximum of Two exhibits may qualify, provided the judges feel the standard is high enough for an ISA Championship.
5. One of the judges at the qualifying show must be a qualified  Irish Draught Horse Judge.
6. Animals qualified for Final are not eligible to enter any other class at Show where the final is held

2. If the foals passport is not to hand the mare’s passport must be ready for inspection prior to entry to the judging ring. Failure to comply with this rule will lead to immediate disqualification.
3. Foals must be led at all times.

5. A Maximum of Two exhibits may qualify, provided the judges feel the standard is high enough for an ISA Championship.

RULES AND CONDITIONS

1. The competition is open to All Breeds of non-pedigree Heifers, suitable to produce and rear a calf with potential for current commercial beef markets.
2. Heifers may be in calf or maiden at final. For heifers that are in-calf, evidence must be provided i.e. Scanning Cert, or Insemination Cert.
3. Heifer's potential mothering ability will be assessed.
4. Up to 2 heifers may qualify at each show if the standard is deemed sufficient.
5. Individual exhibitors may qualify up to 2 heifers for the final.
6. All heifers must be haltered trained and led by a competent adult.
7. Animals qualifying for this final are ineligible for entry to other classes at the Swinford Show. 
8. The Qualifying Exhibitor must fill out their own Qualifying Card at each Qualifying Show. Completed card and entry fee must be handed into the secretary’s office on show day.

 13-17 YEARS OLD

RULES AND CONDITIONS

1. The Competition is open to girls and boys, age on the 1st September will determine the class each exhibitor enters.
2. One exhibitor qualifies from each qualifying show for the Final.
3. Animals can be of any Beef breed, male, or female (pedigree or non-pedigree beef) and must be leading.
4. An exhibitor can show an animal belonging to another herd owner.
5. Intermediate exhibitors will exhibit an animal male or female calf born on or after 1st January 2025.
6. Calf identity cards to be available for inspection on show day.
7. Exhibitors may be asked for proof of their age at the final.
8. No Entries will be accepted on the day of the Qualifying Show.
9. Previous 1st Place Winners are no longer eligible to enter this age category.
10. The Qualifying Exhibitor must fill out their own Qualifying Card at each Qualifying Show. Completed card and entry fee must be handed into the secretary’s office on show day.

THE COMPETITION WILL BE JUDGED ON CRITERIA, WHICH MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

1. The ability to handle and present the animal to its best advantage in the Show Ring.
2. General knowledge about the animal itself, including its feeding, breeding, etc.
3. Stock Judging, the ability to judge and place a group of animals.
4. Personal presentation of stock person.
5. Presentation of the animal.

THE QUALITY ONION ALL IRELAND CHAMPIONSHIP

PRIZE FUND: €500.00

RULES AND CONDITIONS

1. In this competition, the produce must be the property of and grown by the exhibitor.
2. Each exhibit is to consist of the following:

A dish of 5 onions of any variety.

3. The onions may be grown from either seed or sets.
4. The onions may be Autumn or Spring sown. The variety to be correctly named.
5. Each onion must be tied and weigh not more than 450grams.
6. The onions to be harvested and have clear unbroken skins.
7. A special qualifying class will be held at selected shows.
8. Two exhibits may qualify at the selected show, if the Judges agree that the standard is high enough.
9. An exhibitor can only qualify one exhibit for the All-Ireland final.

The Competition will be judged as follows:

Condition / Quality: 25 points, Uniformity and Shape: 25 points

Size / Weight: 10 points, Colour: 10 point

Overall presentation / attractiveness: 10 points

Judge’s decision will be final at all stages of the competition

Exhibits are displayed at owner’s risk
